Kirsten, 24, who is filming in London, seems to be enjoying her new-found freedom. She was seen dancing with a group of guys at the Greco Roman night in London Bridge into the early hours of last Sunday.

Friday, July 27, 2007 - Gretchen Barretto has broken her silence, kept since her kissing scandal with John Estrada early June of this year. Except for text messages to close friends, to update them about her and longtime partner Tonyboy Cojuangco's condition, she has not given any interview.
But in an intimate birthday dinner for talent manager Douglas Quijano last Wednesday night, July 25, hosted by Richard Gomez and Lucy Torres-Gomez at their East Greenhills home, she agreed to be interviewed on cam by Startalk reporter Gorgy Rula. PEP also joined in.
According to Gretchen, she accompanied Tonyboy to Boston for his operation and never left his side the full time. She thanked her fans for being supportive of her and asked them to take the good with the bad as life is not perfect. She reiterated that with her what they see is what they get. She always thanked Tonyboy for his unconditional love and their daughter for her understanding.
But she failed to answer questions regarding her relationship with John Estrada.

Wednesday, July 25, 2007 10:35 AM - When Gary Lising guested in today's episode of Forbidden Questions, he confessed to hosts DJ's Mo Twister, Mojo Jojo and Andi 9 that he once slept with a starlet for the sum of P10, 000.
Gary, who is well known for his green jokes, pulled a perfect score of 40, amped considerably by bonus points when he named certain celebrities he frequently fantasized. As expected, he often interjected his answers with some words which got Mo on his toes as some were not appropriate to be mentioned on air. Gary also named entertainment columnist Jobert Sucaldito as the person he would want to have as a partner if he was to do a local version of the critically acclaimed gay film, Brokeback Mountain.
Gary confided that he slept with a hundreds of women dating back to high school and up to this day when he occasionally indulges himself with one-night binges. He even implied that he did it once inside an airplane's restroom with a steward.
As for the last question which was a dare, Gary showed off his "wang" to everyone inside the studio except to Andi 9, who refused to participate and had her back turned.

Lindsay Lohan was arrested for drunk driving in Santa Monica early this morning - her second bust in less than three months. Lohan was arrested around 2:15 AM near Pico Boulevard and Main Street.
Lindsay just turned 21 -- legal drinking age -- earlier this month. She's been voluntarily wearing a SCRAM alcohol monitoring bracelet for the past couple of weeks, even flaunting the device during a recent beach outing in Malibu.

An email about the colorful background of Pinoy Big Brother 2 participant Wendy Valdez has been circulating on the Net. The letter was allegedly written by a certain Kathleen Morales Espiritu and provides lurid details about the controversial near-celebrity's colorful past.
Among others, it alleges that Valdez has worked in Japan as a sex-for-hire girl and has previously granted sexual favors to a professor in order to pass his course.

WARNING - SPOILERS
So, without much ado, here is the list -
The first death is Professor Charity Burbage, Professor of Muggle Studies at Hogwarts. The book actually opens with Voldemort torturing her, hitting her with Avada Kedavra, the killing curse, and feeding her to his snake as a punishment for standing up for the rights of Muggles.
In Chapter Four, as Harry leaves Privit Drive for the final time, the group sent to protect him is attacked by Voldemort and the Death Eaters. We lose Hedwig, the white snowy owl that has been Harry's friend and mail carrier through the previous six books.
In this battle Mad-Eye Moody, the Auror is killed. George Weasley is badly wounded, but survives.
Scrimgeour, the Minister of Magic is killed to put Voldemort's man in power.
Gregorovitch, the wandmaker, and Grindelwald, the dark wizard, are killed by Voldemort in his search for the Elder Wand, one of the three Deathly Hallows. Ollivander, the wandmaker is tortured, but saved by Dobby.
Bathilda Bagshot, an old friend of Dumbledore's family who still lived in Godric's Hallow, was murdered in order to lure Harry into a trap if he visited her for information.
Dobby, Harry's loyal protector dies rescuing him from Malfoy's house as Voldemort is about to arrive.
In Chapter 27 the goblin from Gringotts who brings news to Voldemort that the cup has been stolen is killed as are many Death Eaters. The Malfoys manage to escape from the room and survive the Dark Lord's murderous rage.
Snape is killed by Voldemort or more specifically by Nagini, but not because he was found to be a traitor...
Quite a few Hogwarts students, many who were part of Dumbledore's Army, plus members of the Order of the Phoenix died in the final battle. Crabbe was killed by the Fiendfyre he created to kill Harry - it almost killed Draco Malfoy. Tonks, Lupin and Fred Weasley are the main characters lost in the Battle of Howarts, but more than 50 were killed.
The biggest loss should have been Harry...the odds-on favorite to not outlive the series. He does get murdered by Voldemort, but the killing curse winds up only destroying the piece of Voldemort's soul that lived in Harry. Pretending to be dead, Harry is carried back to Hogwarts where Neville Longbottom risks his life to destroy Nagini, the last of the Horcruxes. The last victim in the book is Voldemort, himself. Destroyed by his own curse...

July 10, 2007 12:21 IST - For Harry Potter fans, this one's as tantalizing a teaser as Albus Dumbledore smiling when he learns that Lord Voldemort has used Harry's blood to regain his body.
Author J K Rowling has said "never say never" in response to a global campaign launched by fans to "Save Harry."
"It's not saying that she definitely is [going to write another book] and it's not saying that she definitely isn't. I cannot comment further," a spokesman for the author was quoted as saying in newspaper reports.

July 6 2007 - Britney Spears surprised everyone at L.A. hot spot Les Deux when she asked to speak to the manager and asked if they were hiring.
As the manager fielded her inquiry, Spears diligently took notes and looked at her calendar for her available dates.
She finally said she could start the following Saturday. Spears did indeed arrive at the club on Saturday, July 14. Unfortunately, none of the higher-ups were there to follow up with her.

Wimbledon has ruled Tatiana Golovin can wear red panties when playing in the tournament, as this do not violate the existing “predominantly white rule” attire.
Golovin went to court last week to contest a referee who found her in violation of the ”predominantly white” dress code when she wore her now famous red underwear during a game. He wore the red underwear to court, and showed them to the judge.
A Wimbledon spokesperson said Golovin’s red panties were cleared with the referee in advance, and since they are underwear, “they do not need to conform to the predominantly white rule.” Wimbledon considers an apparel to be underwear and not shorts if they are above the hemline.
July 15, 2007 - Western Police District Chief Insp Alejandro Yanquiling Jr said that they are now looking for Euanne Bautista (pictured above), 21, an ex-Wowowee dancer who had filed a sexual harassment case again Willie Revillame but is now wanted for questioning for the murder of her boyfriend, Tsinoy millionaire Lester Mancilla Lee, 34, last January 21 in Binondo, Manila.
Police said Bautista, though not a suspect at this time, could help solve the case by providing information. Bautista was the last known girlfriend of Lee. She has reportedly ignored police invitations to appear and has moved residence twice since the murder.
Interestingly, her Friendster profile list her status as “married”, although the site is not considered a reliable source of information.

July 19, 2007 - During a Thanksgiving dinner hosted by Mother Lily Monteverde, Sharon Cuneta finally addressed the rumors regarding the alleged relationship of her husband Senator Francis Pangilinan with news broadcaster/TV host show David Celdran.
The rumors were started by an article posted originally last April 8, 2007 at the Untold Pinoy Stories blog. The original version actually quoted both Pangilinan and Celdran by name. (All the other stories in the blog mention the characters being written about by name.) But it has since been edited. However copies of the original version are in wide circulation in various forums and email messages.

Hours after Miss New Jersey Amy Polumbo went public Thursday with photos of herself that had been sent anonymously to pageant officials, those officials decided the pictures did not merit stripping her of the title.
The pictures include one showing what Polumbo said was her boyfriend apparently biting her breast through her shirt, another of Polumbo in a limousine wearing jeans with her legs spread in the air and another of her in what appears to be a Halloween costume dress holding two small pumpkins up to her breasts.
Polumbo's lawyer said that a person or persons claiming to be The Committee to Save Miss America threatened to make the photos public unless she resigned her title. Polumbo will represent the Garden State in the next Miss America pageant.

12:11pm 07/14/2007 - MANILA, Philippines -- Roger "Rod" Strunk, 68, widower of murdered movie actress Nida Blanca died after falling from a 2-story inn in Tracy, California and police ruled it a suicide.
Strunk was one of the prime suspects in the murder of Blanca, Dorothy Jones in real life, was found dead on the pavement outside the Tracy Inn at 24 W. 11th around 11:30 a.m. Tuesday (US time).
Nida Blanca's daughter, Kaye Torres, declined to comment on Strunk's death until she gets official confirmation from Tracy officials.
Strunk left for the US in 2002 to visit his ailing mother, Helen Strunk, before he could be charged for Blanca’s killing. He never returned to the Philippines.

The old cliche says "there is no such thing as bad press," but in Hollywood, that isn't always the case. Through the years it has been shown that controversy can scare away folks from the box office. That theory will be tested again this weekend with the release of CAPTIVITY the After Dark Films/Lionsgate Films release, which is the story of a young kidnapped woman, who is held captive and tortured by an unknown assailant. The film's release will mark the end of a long and nasty battle between After Dark Films, the film's distributor, and the MPAA.
The controversy began in March when some billboards that were not approved by the MPAA showed up in New York and Los Angeles. The Billboard (pictured here) shows four images of the film's star, the gorgeous, Canadian vixen Elisha Cuthbert in various stages of captivity. Apparently, the last two images had been denied by the MPAA, but somehow still made it onto the streets. The MPAA immediately ordered After Dark Films and their partner Courtney Solomon to remove the billboards at once. Solomon responded, but replaced them with billboards that simply said "Captivity was here." Some people around town, and especially at the MPAA found this form of advertising to be a slap in the face. In the fall out that ensued, the film was given a thirty day ratings suspension and fined. It has also been reported that the MPAA was EXTREMELY difficult on the film during its ratings process.
But where one story ends, another begins as the billboards were fixed, and everything seemed to be dying down, the film was again thrown into the spotlight when filmmaker Eli Roth took to publicly bashing the film, and the trouble that he felt the film had caused others, especially himself, in his process leading to the release of HOSTEL II. Roth contends that the MPAA was in a particularly foul mood, because of CAPTIVITY's antics, which caused him and a lot of other filmmakers unnecessary grief.
Even in leading up to the release, After Dark has not shied away from going to extremes, releasing trailers proclaiming that this is a film that "they don't want you to see!" and throwing a bondage premier party, complete with Suicide Girls, bondage rooms, and flesh-hangers. And with good reason. Since its inception, After Dark Films, who specializes in releasing low budget horror films, and has a releasing deal through Lionsgate Entertainment, has been desperately looking for a SAW-type hit to help them really get up and running. The results have not been good so far.
All of this of course goes out the window this Friday when the movie hits the theaters and the audience will be the ones speaking. The word on the street is not very good, which is surprising as the film is directed by two-time Academy Award nominee Roland Joffe, not the usual sort of helmer for this type of film. The release probably couldn't come at a worse time as audiences seem to have soured on the "torture porn" genre, as witnessed by the low box office of HOSTEL II.
Whatever the case may be, it has been one wild, almost endless ride for CAPTIVITY, a ride that will end at a cineplex near you this coming Friday the 13th. Is there "no such thing as bad press?" Is "torture porn" on the outs? Is this Roland Joffe's comeback film? Will this be the hit After Dark has been looking for? Did the battle with the MPAA hurt or help its box office? And most importantly, will Elisha Cuthbert finally get naked!? All these questions will be answered by us, the audience, this weekend.

July 10, 2007 - Apparently there is such a thing as having too much money…just ask Catherine Zeta Jones. The ultra hottie is digging into her massive piggy bank every time she gets her hair washed. According to salon spies, Catherine is paying $400 to use caviar as a shampoo.
From The Daily Mail: The Beluga caviar is apparently flown in from Iran five days ahead of her treatments at a beauty salon in South Kensington. “Catherine discovered the caviar treatment last summer and was astounded by the difference it made to her hair,” said a source. “She has an incredibly rich and vibrant natural hair color but the creamy, almost oily nature of caviar really brings this out, making the color even richer and making it so much more glossy.” Miss Zeta-Jones’s hair is washed with a truffle-based shampoo, then smeared with the caviar, which is combed through and left to set.

July 10, 2007 - 06:01 PM - The NBI on Tuesday said that it has widened its probe of the Francswiss Investment pyramiding scam following reports that prominent people including actors and actresses, politicians, a media personality, a basketball player, and military and police officers were among its victims.
The NBI said 25 people had already filed complaints against Francswiss and 100 more also plan to sue Francswiss officers. Investors each poured in a minimum of $1,000 in Francswiss.
Senior Agent Manny Fayre of the NBI National Capital Region said the bureau is set to invite some personalities to shed light on the incident, including popular actress Claudine Barreto and her actor-husband Raymart Santiago, broadcast journalist Korina Sanchez and cager Bonnel Balingit.
But Fayre said Barreto, Santiago and Sanchez may not actually have been investors" but were name-dropped by the group to lure other people.

Angel Locsin's manager and the management of GMA 7 had a long talk and it was almost certain that the co-management deal of the network and Angel Locsin is off.
Angel Locsin's camp is not comfortable with the co-management deal in which GMA plays both her employer AND her manager. Angel's camp feels disadvantaged monetarily.

I am an avid watcher of ANTM and have known [not personally] Tyra Banks way before that. Tyra Banks has done a lot for herself and has accomplished a lot more than people of her age. She’s hardworking, beautiful, and she doesn’t want to fit in with “stick-skinny” models. She created America’s Next Top Model which has resulted not only as a successful TV show but also an international phenomenon with numerous countries following her.
So why can’t I stand her?
Because she’s deeply in love with her self. The Oprah “replacement” maybe went through too many successes. I know her intentions are good but she always ends up making things about herself. ANTM, “I did this in Milan”, “If you can’t do this like me, then you can’t make it”, “I remember when I was eighteen…..” Do you ever remember what you say? WE KNOW, OKAY? And to end her feud with Naomi Campbell? That is not an “Oprah would do this”. That’s a publicity stunt for her own benefit. She did this because Naomi Campbell tried to end her career and of the emotional pain piled up all these years.
Meanwhile on ANTM, she tells the girls that modeling is a tough world. People try to bring you down but it’s not “Top Model” for nothing. All the girls listen, all the judges listen, heck, the world listens. But this little truth applies to everyone except Tyra. So why are you biting Naomi’s butt trying to get her to apologize.
You could tell that inside Naomi’s mind, she was like, ‘you insecure idiot, I’m remembered as Supermodel/Superangry Naomi Campbell not someone who sits there and listens to all that complaining [Now where’s a telephone I could use?]’. Uh Oh Tyra, looks like someone’s more ‘fierce’ than you.

PDI entertainment columnist Dolly Anne Carvajal hopes that Tonyboy Cojuangco's health recovery after a throat operation in Boston would also manifest on his relationship with beauteous actress Gretchen Barretto after the "kisscandal."
Gretchen sent a text message to the equally controversial columnist, in which she stated that she's staying beside Tonyboy and has put aside all the nasty talks caused by the controversy.
"I have not left Tony's side since the so-called forbidden kiss photo. I have put all else aside since he needs recovery," Gretchen confided to Dolly Anne.
Gretchen wholeheartedly acknowledged her shortcomings as a partner, but never did she think of dismissing all the wonderful memories she shared with the popular business magnate.

Gretchen Barretto and longtime partner Tonyboy Cojuangco arrived yesterday, July 5, in Manila from San Franciso, California. The plane touched down at around 6:00 a.m. and GMA-7's Showbiz Central managed to take some footage of the arrival.
Tonyboy, who underwent an operation in the US to remove a tumor found on his throat, was on a wheelchair and was immediately swarmed by his bodyguards as soon they caught sight of him.
Gretchen took a while before emerging. The controversial actress was reportedly hesitant and felt anxious upon learning that television crews were waiting outside for her. Many think that Gretchen feared being hounded with questions regarding the controversial "kisscandal" involving her and John Estrada. Gretchen opted not to grant any interview at the height of the controversy and relayed statements only through letters or text messages.
She obliged, however, to give some comments yesterday while making her way towards a waiting vehicle.

Winners Losers : From Kris to Ruffa to Gretchen (Desperate Housewives. Philippine Edition).

The month of June is a good time to review what transpired for the first six months of 2007. For this edition, Conventional Wisdom is focusing on showbiz-related matters instead of the usual politics (which in a way is also show-biz but ……for ugly people). Read on.
Kris Aquino. Loser. While she is the innocent one in the whole James-Hope brouhaha, Conventional Wisdom thinks that she could have handled the incident with more dignity and privacy. One wonders why this drama queen wants to inflict her day-to-day saga with the whole planet. From exaggerating her "life-threatening" pregnancy, to lambasting her husband in public ("O magsalita ka? Totoo naming pina-palayas na kita sa bahay a?"), to actually using Ninoy to promote a cake in her latest commercial. Kris' next endorsement should neither be beer nor pastries but laundry detergent for her unquenchable desire to always wash her very dirty underwear in public.
James Yap. Loser. One word : cad. As one writer succinctly said : "What do you expect from a provincial boy who suddenly became famous and wealthy?" The last time we witnessed a showbiz cad was during Gabby Concepcion's time. James is now second in our list. Conventional Wisdom is giving them maximum of 3 years as a couple. Kris is starting to look more and more mature and matronic. James is still young. Give James sometime, and after Hope - - Faith and Charity will spring forth.
Moral of the story. Smoking is bad for marriage: Kris had Philip, James had Hope. Conventional Wisdom can't take any More of this!!!
Ruffa Gutierrez / Annabelle Rama : The mother and daughter (MAD) team strikes again. From a filmfest scam that made it to CNN, to Brunei-yuki scandal that merited a senate hearing, and now, the falling out with Ylmaz - which is desperately being peddled out as Philippines vs. Turkey. Oppressor vs. Victim.
Ruffa Gutierrez: Loser. A desperate act from a has-been, middle-aged B-actress who is trying to make a come-back by capitalizing on whatever publicity that can be squeezed out from this split. From caterwauling one minute "Hindi ko na kaya Kuya Boy!", to coyly saying the following week "Ligawan nya (Ylmaz) ulit ako" to having her born again baptism rites captured on cam and then heading off to Las Vegas the following week to relax and do damage control (about his marriage five years ago in Las Vegas). Ruffa, you're act is getting stale. You have become so predictable and boring.
Annabelle Rama. Winner. For always a character that she is. For being consistent in her act and for being our constant source of amusement. Conventional Wisdom almost fell off its chair when this motor-mouth fish-wife asked Dolly Ann to return the cosmetics she gave her and then, proceeded on by actually naming two unknown women on national television to pay their debts to her since she now has to take care of Ruffa and her grandchildren : "Hoy, so and so… magbayad na kayo ng utang nyo sa akin dahil marami na akong papalamunin ngayon" or something to that effect. Panalo talaga si Bisaya. I strongly suggest to PGMA that we give this woman a postion in the government preferably as Head of our National Defense. Asap.
Dolly Ann Carvajal. Winner and Loser. A lot of people don't like this woman. For one, she is not pleasing to the eye. Her gay son looks a lot better than she. And admit it or not, she became a writer thru her connections ? mom and aunt. But being objective about the whole thing, Conventional Wisdom thinks that Dolly Ann is on the right this time. Why can't the mother and daughter (MAD) tandem just answer the questions posed by Dolly Ann? Why can't Annabelle stick to the issues instead of pointing out something we already know : how ugly Dolly Ann is.
What makes Dolly Ann a loser is her constant use of her departed mom's legacy and memory whenever someone would diss her out. Honey, stop hiding under the skirt of your mom. You are not a sacred cow.
Pia Guanio. Loser. What a lousy lousy interviewer. The depth of her talent as a host is as long as her irritating mini skirts. Do us a favor Pia, ask Bossing to marry you already and then fade into oblivion.
Gretchen Baretto. Loser. One word : Wow. The affectations of La Greta can only matched by her delusions of grandeur. From the looks of it, she is experiencing the early on-set of a mid-life crisis. She has been picking fights left and right…with Lani Mercado, and then with Dawn
Zulueta. From her classic statement about the looks of her own daughter : "Naaawa nga ako dahil karamihan ng tao ang sabi kay Dominique, kamukha sya ng tatay nya?".And now the "friendly beso-beso" lip-lock with John Estrada. Please explain to Conventional Wisdom - - "How can this be a friendly kiss when you and John looked so orgasmic in that shot?
Gretchen is a classic example of "langaw na nakatungtong sa kalabaw, pero feeling mataas pa sa kalabaw." Someone should already tell this woman to seek professional help. Sober up and clean your act sister. You are no Paris Hilton. More like Plaster of Paris Hilton.
Cesar Montano, Richard Gomez, Manny Pacquiao, etc. - Losers. No further explanations needed.
Borgy Manotoc. Loser. Please. Please. From one scandal to the next. From one basag-ulo to the next. We have enough of you and your sap-sap mouth face. Will someone already put this psycho behind bars?
Butch Francisco and Dolly Ann as writers. Losers. Please don't waste precious newspaper space writing about personal stories that nobody (repeat, nobody!) finds interesting at all. From your maid's antics to your experience as a judge of Slimmers World Mr. and Ms. Ek ek, to a current love who inspires you. Please! A tree gave up its life to have these newspaper printed. Have I mentioned that nobody is interested?
Belo's Billboards. Loser. Hideous. Plain hideous. Whoever is advising Vicky (I can't call her Doctora Vicky because as Osang said, she was a mere aerobics instructor before) to put out all those monstrosities should be charged with Human Rights violations. From the disturbing Chrismas billboard last December, to Richard Gomez's billboard pre-campaign period, to Ai-ai's scary shot. Conventional Wisdom would rather stare at the billboards of Ellen's Beauty Salon (with Ellen as the model herself) than see these Belo ads.
Nora Aunor. Loser. To be a has-been superstar drug dependent in your fifties is bad enough. To be caught doing drugs in another country is worse. To be found-out to have married another woman many years ago for a US green-card is worst. Ate Guy is a classic example of a person
blessed with so much talent and opportunity gone to waste.
Regine Velasquez ? Ogie Alcasid. Losers. Regine is what ..... .nearing 40? As someone said "from her demeanor to her utterance, Regine is trying very very very hard to hold on to youth." And if I may add, failing miserably. This home-wrecker who speaks with an American sleng-sleng should act her age. Seeing her kilig-reaction about the admission of Ogie made me lose my appetite for dinner. Conventional Wisdom is really worried that anytime soon, Regine's face and body will collapse. From her hair extension, her fake long eyelashes, her fake nose, her man-made eye slits, her tooth-caps with gums, and her Gluthathioned skin, her fake boobs. Last we heard, her movie with Piolo flopped big time. Nobody wants to see a May ? December love story anymore. Or more correctly, a May 1960 ? December 2007 love affair story anymore.
These are the people that are giving Conventional Wisdom constant migraine the past months. If this trend continues until December, aneurysm can't be far behind.
